Lead Science Writer (06/2024 - 06/2025)
Led documentation strategy for cloud-native data storage and analysis platform (Terra.bio), transforming user education through redesigned knowledge base and AI-powered search.

• Redesigned knowledge base around user needs (not backend structure) and implemented effective AI-powered search, improving self-service knowledge base success from 25% to 75% and saving 80 hours a week of engineering time (approximately $160K a year).

• Reduced manager time investment with streamlined self-serve onboarding documentation and video tutorials developed by partnering with NIH program PM. Replacing one-on-one meetings with self-service resources saved 20% PM FTE and freed 50% engineering FTE for product development.

• Eliminated duplicate documentation efforts across teams, freeing approximately 2K hours annually across three teams (about 15 people) for higher-value work; resulted in single source of truth, reduced maintenance burden, and clearer user experience.

Senior Science Writer (06/2020 - 06/2024)

• Transformed workshops that reach more than 1k users a year with new onboarding tutorials to introduce full platform functionality. The hands-on Quickstart tutorials featured a mock study I developed from scratch to apply to researchers no matter what their field of study. 

• Mentored and onboarded two new writers, enabling them to update more that 100 articles and other education materials. 

Science Writer (09/2018 - 06/2020)

• Created documentation and education resources for researchers using Terra's cloud-based biomedical data platform. 

• Grew the Terra knowledge base from tens of articles to 100s, organized around topics for easy findability.
